NORTH AMERICAN MODEL HORSE SHOW ASSOCIATION rules are in effect for this MEMBER SHOW.   Judges and Entrants must observe all NAMHSA rules including, but not limited to:  A person may not show and judge in the same division at a NAMHSA member show.  A division is defined as one or more grouped classes such as "OF Breyer Plastic” or "OF Performance".  A judge may not judge any model that he/she has worked/collaborated on.  A judge may not judge any model which he/she owns or has owned within the last six months.  A judge may not judge models owned by relatives of the judge (to include any relations by blood or marriage, significant others, co-habitants).  A judge may not judge any models owned by any individual who co-owns one or more models with that judge.

CLASS LIMITS:  3 models per Halter Class;  3 performance models per class.  Each model may only be entered in ONE Breed class in the entire show (this does not include performance).

If you would like to enter more than 3 models in a specific halter class a dollar can be put with the model(s) in question and will be considered a donation

MODEL IDENTIFICATION:  all models are to be tagged by the owners, PRIOR to the show, with white string tags, approximately 1 x 1.5" in size.   The model’s breed and gender are to be on one side of the tag, with its name and the owner’s three initials or name on the reverse.  When horses are placed on the table, the tags MUST be breed/gender side up, with the identifying information FACING THE TABLE to make the entry anonymous, or the judge may disqualify the entry.

SHOW TABLES:  Each entrant will have a 6 foot table space; ALL of your personal property must fit on or under this table.

We need to keep all doorways and aisle clear in case of fire, not to mention others could trip and injure themselves or damage horses.  Any damage is the sole responsibility of those involved.  It is not the liability of the show/show holders.  Please be courteous to others – everyone has a small space and we must keep within the space provided!

You may sell/trade from your table.   Show management retains the right to refuse sales tables to non-showers.

KID'S DIVISION (14 and under)

Places 1st through 6th will be placed in each class.  Rosettes will be awarded for Champion and Reserve Champion.  Any model who won a 1st or 2nd will be eligible for the Champion class.

Note that anyone in this division will not get a table.

Showers registered in the regular show with a table may also show in this division if 14 or under.

This division meets the Breyer Live Show Benefit Program requirements ; division is not NAMHSA approved.

SHOW ETIQUETTE & TIPS:

Do not touch any models except your own unless that person has verbally permitted you.

Please promptly place your models in the ring for their class and as soon as the previous class's models have been removed.  Remove your models promptly so that each class may be punctual.  Some classes will move faster than others.

Models not removed from the show tables in a rapid and timely manner will be moved to a "Pony Pound".  The show/staff shall not be held liable for damage or loss to these models.

Do note that Halter and Performance classes will run simultaneously – and it may not be possible for your model to enter both divisions; you must choose which division is most important for your model to place in.

Set up and clear out as quickly as possible. This will make the show go faster.

The judges' decisions are at the sole discretion of the judges and all decisions are final.   Please stay away from the judges while they are judging – save your questions for between classes. Shadows are the exception; shadows can participate in class judging so long as they are not showing in the classes they are shadowing. Please contact Neena if you are interested in being a judge shadow.

Electronic devices (phones, lap tops, etc.) are allowed.  Just be reasonable as to the volume.

SECURITY AND LIABILITY:  Security is the responsibility of each individual exhibitor.  Show management, judges, volunteers and other associated parties shall not be held liable for any kind of damages or loss to persons or property. Models can get damaged when at a show so be careful when moving around tables.

CHILDREN:  It is suggested that young children are not brought to the show as they become bored and their activity may damage personal property of others.  If you must bring your child(ren) please note is it your responsibility for their behavior. You may be asked to remove the child(ren) from the show site if they become disruptive, and classes will not be held up and refunds will not be given. You will also be held liable for any damage that your child(ren) do.

Pets are not allowed.

No alcohol or smoking in the show building.

Foul language and unsportsmanlike conduct are grounds for dismissal from the show with no refunds.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:

DOCUMENTATION is highly encouraged and can make the difference in placing in a class.

Documentation is required for collectability classes – state run # etc / what makes this piece collectible? (since the judges are not encyclopedia’s)

While questions regarding what class your model should go in may be asked the day of the show, it is encouraged you ask beforehand as show day can be very busy and we may not have time to answer your question when you need it!  Breed segregation is pretty standard and it should be fairly easy to decide where your piece should be shown.

For more information, please check this link for a list of breed placements: http://www.namhsa.org/nan2015/2015NANBreedCrossRef.pdf

ORIGINAL FINISH MODELS ARE NOT TO BE ALTERED FROM THEIR INTENDED FINISH IN ANY WAY.  These models MAY be repaired/restored; however it is the discretion of the judges as to whether or not the model has been restored or repaired properly. Judges may disqualify altered horses at their discretion.

DEFINITION OF CUSTOM:  Any original finish model that has been altered beyond simple repairs, including Sandicast, Starlite, Breyer resins, or other mass produced models.  No artist resin models will be shown in this division.

DEFINITION OF ARTIST RESIN:  Any artist's personal creation sculpted in resin which is not considered "mass produced".  If the artist resin has been structurally altered or altered in any way, it still shows in this division.

TIPPY MODELS may be shown lying down on a soft cloth. If you do not want this model handled, place a 3x5 card next to it stating that the model is NOT to be touched. If the judge is not to handle the model, the judge may so choose not to include it in the judging.

JUDGES:  Show management reserves the right to assign any judges to any classes or divisions at any time. All NAMHSA rules will be followed in the assignment of judges and the actions of judges. Judging is the opinion of the individual judge, and personal opinions cannot be controlled or legislated by the show management.
